Art For Advocacy Training
During October 2011, a partner project between Gay and Lesbian Memory in Action (GALA), the Curriculum Development Programme (CDP) and Kaleidoscope Youth Network was funded by SAIH to train 12 individuals at Wits, UJ and UNW Potchefstroom in Art for Advocacy - specifically, banner, T-shirt and poster making, for use in advocacy campaigns. Each training session then led to a campaign - two IDAHO (International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia) and one Censored campaign at Wits, UJ and UNW respectively. |
Art For Advocacy - UNW Potchefstroom - Censored Campaign
The Potchefstroom campus of University of North West was one of the targeted universities in the 2011 Art For Advocacy training. The student society there, POUT, put together a 'Censored' campaign to protest silencing of LGBTIA students and issues on campus.

AIDS Day
The Kaleidoscope Youth Network team are committed to a future where HIV/AIDS is a controlled reality for individuals, not one that destroys, creates stigma and acts as an immediate death sentence. No one is left out of this responsibility. As part of the Youth4Youth campaign, set your status on Mxit in support of getting tested, that you fight a world with AIDS, not people with AIDS, or that you’re committed to your future, HIV free. |
